  • WP5 Development of integrative bioleaching process had the objective to develop and test innovative bioleaching processes capable of efficiently dealing with Low Grade copper concentrates, polymetallic concentrates, and flotation middlings produced in existing flotation plants (WP2), to yield high quality and added value metal products.

  • WP6 Valorisation of tailings, wastes and effluents aimed to benefit old tailings and metallurgical wastes with enough metals content, critical elements or value raw materials; maximizing reuse of water to minimize water consumption and enhance purification of effluents.

  • WP7 Technologies Assessment and Project Evaluation evaluated the developed novel leaching technology, defined specific conditions and potentiality to apply the innovative developed technologies in existing hydrometallurgical plants or in new projects, checked potential synergies among industries to provide possibilities for integration of the technology in existing plants, and identified the environmental burden, by means of a LCA approach.
